Supporting the Greater Christchurch Partnership to get alignment on housing actions.

The Challenge

The partner organisations involved in the Greater Christchurch Partnership sought advice on how to respond to the known housing issues facing the region, and what their collective response should be.

The Solution

TUA workshopped with the member organisations the range of issues and existing solutions, identified opportunities to rethink the current housing settings, and achieve a range of objectives. The partnership wanted to understand how to demonstrate leadership in housing innovation, so a number of case studies were presented. Priority actions were identified for the partnership and its stakeholders.

The Journey

TUA took a collaborative approach to developing this action plan, providing lots of opportunity for previous work to be tabled, discussed and incorporate. TUA also had a two way dialogue with each of the council’s involved in the partnership, so different perspectives were all taken into account.

Incorporation of mana whenua input and getting alignment on timing and priorities meant that the partnership had a shared view about the next steps and areas where further work was required, either together, or as individuals.
