TUA developed a Baseline Report for Hutt City Council, for the beginnings of the process towards a robust housing strategy for the area.
The Challenge
Hutt City Council wanted to develop a comprehensive and research-backed housing strategy, so first needed to understand any issues, opportunities, existing data and how to best execute the plan when developed.
The Solution
TUA prepared a Baseline Report to inform the future Housing Strategy. Strategic insights were also provided and a recommended outline for the strategy.
The Journey
TUA began with a review of the data and previous strategic documentation that identified housing issues and opportunities. Various council teams contributing to the housing strategy were then engaged with, in order to understand their perspective of what the housing strategy would be used for. TUA then provided advice on how to move the strategy work forward, and build the various council teams alignment. TUA recommended that first step of the work was to deliver a baseline. Following this, the strategy could be developed internally, once there was clarity about which business unit owned the development of the strategy itself.
