Facilitation of a multistakeholder workshop to reset the project planning for an integrated rail and urban development project in Bunnythorpe, Manawatu.

Te Utanganui is a multimodal transport and logistics project, led by Kiwirail but with multiple partner organisations, that required help to move from the early planning stages of the project into delivery.

TUA facilitated an all-day workshop with its partner agencies Palmerston North City Council, Waka Kotahi, regional councils, the Economic Development Agency CEDA and mana whenua. TUA developed a high-level programme plan that summarised work to date, outlined why the project was needed, its objectives and benefits, who was involved and what each of the major workstreams needed to be.

Bringing years of experience in turning strategy into action, TUA was able to help navigate the various perspectives of the different partner organisations and identify the roadblocks that were preventing the project from advancing.

TUA produced a highly visual summary document that outlined all of the major elements to the programme, and simply communicated a roadmap for progressing the project.

TUA worked through the interdependencies of multiple projects within the programmes.
