TUA supported the NZ Police with strategic property, planning, urban design, brief development; as well as going to the market for development partners to deliver a Police hub.

The Challenge

The North Auckland Police needed a new area station, so engaged TUA's services to support the development of a brief to outline the station's requirements.

The Solution

TUA undertook a needs assessment, then developed an evaluation framework for assessing the response. The brief described a new way of policing - inline with their organisational strategy - and offered an in-depth understanding on how a shift towards a more community oriented style of policing would work.

The Journey

This process worked in partnership with Oranga Tamariki and the New Zealand Police. Another central part of the journey was engagement with iwi as a partner, as well as other stakeholders to determine their requirements and roles in the project. TUA worked to develop criteria that responded to the strategic organisational direction; operational and functional requirements; and urban design and planning requirements. TUA also developed a needs assessment with key requirements, to inform the Request for Proposals from the market.
