The New Zealand Housing Survey: Year 2 Survey Results

The New Zealand Housing Survey (NZHS) is giving the sector something it has never had before: a clear, evidence‑based picture of what New Zealanders need, want, and can afford across regions, life stages, and tenures. It replaces assumption‑based planning with a robust, longitudinal dataset that shows where the housing system is under pressure, who is most affected, and where investment and policy change will have the greatest impact.
