Advice on affordable, mixed tenure design to a Wellington community housing provider.
The Challenge
Dwell Housing Trust needed advice on their journey in understanding the full spectrum of housing models available. They wanted to achieve a range of tenures, and configure their mix of dwelling typologies in a way that supported community.
The Solution
TUA provided advice on leading urban design trends and their impact on community wellbeing across urban design and environmental sustainability. TUA also provided an analysis of the New Zealand housing spectrum and applicable case studies, along with a market demand analysis.
The Journey
The advice and analysis TUA provided was guided by the strategic project setting facilitated. TUA also helped the Dwell Housing Trust realise its environmental sustainability goals, and considerations for this in regards to future developments. TUA also assisted in talks with a potential development partner about the opportunity to comprehensively master plan and develop the neighbouring site as a single development opportunity, that would provide additional housing; as well as spaces for community gathering.
