This project involved supporting Auckland Council and the Local Board, in planning for their public consultation of the Open Space Network Plan.
The Challenge
Auckland Council and the Local Board required support for the public consultation process on the draft Tāmaki Open Space Network Plan.
The Solution
TUA worked alongside Auckland Council and the Local Board, to develop a strategy for the public consultation on the draft Tāmaki Open Space Network Plan. The goal of the consultation was to increase community awareness and understanding of the network plan, as well as the wider regeneration initiative.
The consultation focused on the next step in implementing reserve development; how the community can be engaged in this process; and how it will impact them.
The Journey
TUA recommended consulting on the key moves and prioritised actions, to provide a more rounded level of feedback from the public. Getting feedback on specific Concept Plans also needed to be factored into the consultation on the wider plan. TUA presented these recommendations to Auckland Council, proposing changes to the draft Open Space Network Plan as a result of the community engagement.
